Absence of parent involvement...
That phrase pretty much says it all. Very few if any kids stand a chance without parent involvement. Technology is a great thing but spend that money on getting parents involved. Because without that the child loses no matter how much you spend on their technology.

I hope you are not one of those that thinks technology can cure all. In education, there is so many more fundamental issues being overlooked.

Get the parents involved, then give the kids their technology.
