We need better email
Frankly, email is currently broken - spam and scams and phishing make it a mess to wade through, even with the best spam blocking stuff.

Problem is, we decided to use "adaptive filtering" statistical junk rather than solid encryption and digital signatures. What do the spammers do? They just turn up the volume of spam. Now we're paying dearly for our mistake.

"99%" just doesn't cut it anymore. We need 99.999% or better. We won't get that with current statistical filtering.

I'm not surprised a lot of people are wary of using email, considering how little the technology has advanced in that area. It's still as easy to spoof as ever and is almost never encrypted. Why do we not at least have basic encryption and digital signing as a standard feature yet? This is standard technology for web browsers, and has been for years!

There's no excuse for this. If we can encrypt and sign web pages like we do today, there's no reason we can't do the same with email.
