I buy all my books online
I mostly use half.com, which is part of eBay. But there's also:

http://www.allbookstores.com/

This is an aggregator, so it searches a bunch of sites.

Here's how much you can save: My "Advanced Suse Linux" book retails for $146.95 at school (New England Institute of Technology, Warwick RI). I got it brand new from half.com for $48, and with shipping, totalled $54.

One caveat, though. Many of the sellers use "Media Mail", which can be awfully slow. If any of them offer expedited shipping, I always choose that since it's usually only about two dollars more. Case in point: That Linux book? I ordered it last Monday night and it came on Thursday. Can't beat that.
