- Tip: first update the 7 inch Eee by temporary *wired* internet connection

When you've got those 7 inch Eee's, first retrieve and process all available updates by means of a temporary *wired connection* (ethernet cable).
One of the updates is an update for the wireless network card. Without it, connecting to the internet wirelessly, is unreliable at best and probably even impossible.
That's my experience with one of those machines in a computer shop.
After the updates, you don't need the ethernet cable anymore: the wireless connection is reliable and stable then.
By the way: it's 9-inch brother has a far more readable screen.... 7 inch is simply too small, it shows often unreadably small fonts. Oh well, kids have better eyes than we, I suppose...
