I agree wholeheartedly
People always ask me if linux will be
ready for the desktop, or rather, if this
is the year of the linux desktop. I
usually respond with a 'hope not.' I'm
one of a few avid linux enthusiasts who
like linux the way it is. With windows
being the major player on the market,
they get all the attention from the
malware writers. It is driven by money,
and no serious malware writer will spend
much time looking for vulnerabilities in
linux that wouldn't be patched within a
day or two. It would be TONS of wasted
manpower for little to no effect. Will
linux always be immune? I hope so, but
realistically no.
