Computer store
A computer store builds them for me, at my own specifications. Without operating system or any other software, ofcourse. Same price as when I would buy the components separately and assemble them myself. Plus I have one year warranty.

Then I pump Ubuntu on to the hard drive and get going with the machine! happy

Tips for peace of mind:

1. Don't select the very latest top-of-the-line models (Linux is always a couple of months behind with drivers).

2. Beforehand, search the Ubuntu forums if the components you want, have any major issues with Linux. Rarely these days, but you never know.

3. Take an Ubuntu LiveCD with you to the store, and ask if you can try a LiveCD-session on a roughly comparable machine in their showroom. There's nothing like a hands-on test to make 100 % sure.

Have fun and keep us informed! happy
