Communication Skills is a primary one. To have the patience to listen to a user and to understand/listen to what they say is key skill for any tech (and one that many lack). This is true for more than just the K12 market.

BTW - Remember that in writing your blog that not all techs/educators are in small/single school environments. Many Urban/Larger districts have Technology departments with large numbers of salaried employees (60+ here) that support the the schools (100+) within. With the complexity of many apps and the service level needs, its a necessity.
