A conspiricy after all ..
The buyer now speaks up. And it now appears that the OEM/System Integrator that they are paying to assemble and distribute the laptops took it upon themselves to reconfigure those laptops with Windows on the basis of "thats what the end users are asking for". This is like a situation where a company purchases PCs for their employees and the middleman "determines" that the employees don't like what the employer is providing so they along with a competing vendor modify the products against the will of the purchaser. This whole thing sounds like typical Microsoft business ethics to me. Technically, its not a violation of law, although they certainly could be sued for it. But when you have as much money as Microsoft does, you don't worry about being sued because you can easily buy yourself out of any lawsuits that happen to come your way. But in this case, it is sounding more and more like the jig is up and the middleman is not likely to collect on their $400,000 bonanza. I'm already crying for their pain.
