Downloading?
You're doing the same thing the RIAA is doing when you say that "the downloading and sharing of copyrighted material is illegal." Actually, the sharing of copyrighted material is illegal, the downloading is not. Obviously the RIAA would like to blur this distinction because they don't want anyone downloading, but don't have any legal recourse against it, so they bluff.

Whether it's ethical or not is another question.
