Are there other schools in the area?
Maybe you could direct the person to another local school or maybe a church or even a some of the smaller "mom and pop" shops. Either way the donations take care of the hardware issues for whomever the recipients are, and your students could be part of the set-up crew, think of it as a class exercise.

You end up teaching them the following:
1 - Good community relations.
2 - Pro bono is not evil.
3 - How to setup a full system, start to start up.
4 - How to trouble shoot hardware and software issues.
5 - Hardware matching and testing.
6 - OS and application installation.
7 - OS configuration and account creation.

The list goes on and if you stick with Linux as the OS, then these kids will get to take what you are teaching and really use it on a system that will be used by someone else. It's an idea, one worth considering. After all the best lesson are the ones that have a real positive impact on other people. devil
