Tell me about it
Although I find it amusing to think that many might be choosing to take organic chemistry instead of advanced math. As a chemistry tutor, I see a lot of people who are forced to take chemistry to get into medical and vet schools. I can tell you, they don't take the chemistry because it's easier than something else.

The biggest problem I run into (again, as a chemistry tutor) is the seeming inability of students to apply knowledge. I can walk a student through how to solve a particular type of problem, but when I give them the same problem with changed parameters, they're lost. For example, given a reaction showing 2 moles of one compound reacting with 3 moles of another compound, many students are unable to tell me how much of the second compound will be required to react with 3 moles of the first compound.

And the problem seems to be getting worse every year.
