This is certinaly a good place to implement the Citrix model. And, if you don't have that luxury, and your users must access their client software fromm a specific desktop, implementing Windsows Remote Desktop can accomplish the same thing by giving users access to their workplace desktop from just about anywhere.

Another drawback to web-based applications is that web developers often forget that their users are often working on an 800x600 pixel screen. If they are lucky, they are working at 1024x768. Few (especially those on legacy hardware) get to work on 1280x1024 displays. And, if you need hardcopy, web applictions are often not formatted to print nicely.
