Schools crack down on cheating, but students aren't always sure what it means

Everyone builds upon the information they gained from the last source they came into contact with. Can you imagine if you had to have a conversation and site all the information that flowed from your mouth, it would take 30 minutes to go over a 2 min conversation. You would also sound like a 13 year old girl "Sally said, Cathy heard, Steve knows, that Christopher saw, ect..."

Its funny how today we punish plagerism, but in the past many "great" writers plagerized everything. One primary person would be the "Bard" Shakespear. We treat him as an amazing writer, when many of his stories have been blatant plagerisms of other peoples works. Sure those people aren't as well known, but if Shakespear were alive today they would have kicked him out of school and made a federal case.
