infrastructure? infrastructure? We don't need no stinkin' infrastructure?
We had a discussion about related issues during a faculty workshop yesterday. We're hardly in the jungles of Africa, but, like those South Dakota schools, are in an area where the infrastructure simply doesn't exist to support a mass deployment to kids. Similarly, 85% of the teachers felt that they weren't savvy enough to give the kids the tools, assignments, and guidance to make computers for all a reasonable teaching/learning tool. I can't imagine the tribal leaders will have much more confidence. Oh well, at least we don't usually have to break out the pedal-powered generators here in Central Mass.
