Is It Really The Readers Fault?
Saying that people should read ALL the documentation before installing a beta is not a good argument for leaving things out. YOU CHOSE to discuss uninstalling IE8, therefore, you should have covered all the "gotchas". Saying that it is the readers fault for not reading all Microsoft documentation is a unique point of view (to say the least). One could you use the same argument to say your whole blog about this is pointless; the reader could have just read it all in the Microsoft documentation. I do not feel that way. Your blog was not pointless, just incomplete. Ed, your dancing on the head of a pin to say otherwise.
