MS staggers ahead, when forced. Exactly how many years did you wait for IE7
And, IE8 won't be out for a while yet, and FireFox 3 (already released) is already better. Add to that, FireFox 3.1 is waiting in the wings and might be out about the same time as IE8.

So, even blind sheep using MS products have seen all kinds of innovation from the pressure put on them by Firefox.

And, I can not stop laughing about your comments on 20th century bloated office suites for printing on 8.5x11 paper. Heloooo, this is the 21st century. Wacky baroque features to format for printing on paper are on the way out, and publishing on paper is sooooo yesterday. Wake up and smell the coffee.
