Using Complete PC Backup (10 top tweaks for Windows Vista, part 1)

Backup or else: Vista is not supported in that old DI version from around 2003.
Ghost 14 from Symantec works with Vista or XP and is their latest
version. Ghost replaced DI, actually. It has a lot of file/disk
saving and retrieval features DI never had. Or try a trial of
Acronis True Image 11 that works for imaging, too. Might be
time to bite the bullet and upgrade your software for Vista. And
of course, always tell either program to verify your disk images
