Oh grow up and act like an adult. This screed belongs on the Op-Ed page as a letter to the editor of a major newspaper, with a copy to Microsoft customer relations and to Apple, not on a business "network" for users of computers to make a living. If someone is imbecilic enough not to pay attention to the settings of a device they depend on, and let others do it for them (Microsoft is no whited sepulchre -- in their long history, they've performed some nearly criminal skullduggery; in fact whole governments have sued them for their nefarious practices -- and if anyone has created the model for what you're whining about, they did), they deserve what they get. It's hardly criminal to have a piece of software end up on your desktop that you don't want and didn't ask for -- actually you are implicitly agreeing by not paying attention. Caveat emptor (which is a little dicey, since Safari is free; didn't your mother teach you not to take candy from strangers?) is understood as a rule of business. And there is a principle in law "qui tacet consentiret," that is, silence gives consent. Say nothing, and it says you agree. And probably buried in that agreement you agreed to when you installed iTunes (whether on a Mac or a Windows machine is immaterial) is your agreement to allow Apple to offer up software on an opt-in basis from your point of view...
All these invidious comparisons, Apple vs. Microsoft, and vice versa, are horseshit and tiresome. If you don't have the time to inquire what you're getting into, and you're an adult, you deserve what you get. Shut up and talk about something useful.
