- Have tried four times to install Vista SP1 on an HP with an Intel quad CPU. It gets to stage 3, 64% each time and then sits there grinding for 15 minutes before realizing the install stalled and then it takes fifteen more minutes to uninstall the partial install. can't say why. emailed microsoft for help. Will here from them tomorrow or the next day, they say.
