Download is approx 65MB
For an x86 system, the download will typically be 65-70MB. The 500MB is for the standalone installer with all languages on an x64 system.

I repeat, it should only take a few hours, even on a dial-up connection. And the updater supports resume, so you don't have to do all at once.
