Media business is growing
and OF COURSE Microsoft want a piece of that pie.
In recent news NBC left Apple's iTunes and have started their own service, heavily
DRMed of course using Windows Media but with too restricted usage, so most of
us think they'll not do too well, likely fail miserably, much like all other Microsoft-
based offerings.

Steve Jobs has repeatedly talked about moving away from DRM-crippled media, it
has mostly failed anyway except for iTunes music store, while Microsoft is moving
in the opposite direction and adding even more of those restriction directly into
the Windows OS.

Why do they do it? Most potential customers don't want it, they want their
purchased media not to be crippled. Control of course! They are once again trying
to leverage their desktop dominance and steal a hopefully big part of that tasty
pie Apple is currently controlling.

I don't mind competition, I in fact hope it'll grow, a too dominant Apple is not
much better than a dominant Sony, but then I'd prefer to see several companies
with a more honorable agenda than Microsoft.
