Operator/Product combos might be beneficial
Separate AT&T/iPhone, Verizon/Android combos (versus iPhone & Android on both networks) might actually be good for consumers.

It has the potential to create intense competition between:
- the two major software ecosystems (iPhone & Android).
- the two major operators (AT&T & Verizon).

And result in:
- great device designs, to encourage users to switch.
- great product & service pricing, to encourage users to switch.
- significant advertising dollars being spent, to encourage users to switch.
