Alpha Focused on Flex
This alpha was specifically focused on Flex/Flash, which is why Ajax seems like a second class citizen. When the final product ships, Ajax will be on par with Flash/Flex to the point where you won't ever need to use those "proprietary formats" or "expensive tools". You can just port your current Ajax workflow into Apollo and then use the Apollo-specific JavaScript APIs to add desktop functionality to your application.
