We can only hope...
That the Linux community can position itself by rolling the parts and pieces together to attract the dissatisfied Windows customers into what could be.

Currently, to make a "slick and easy" conversion experience into Linux it still takes way too much careful experimentation and research to make it work for the majority of the Windows users. Possibly some of the bigger vendors can roll the various applications, drivers, and so on together and make an attractive package from the OSS operating system and applications. But I suspect that the fractured way the Linux community expertise comports itself that this huge gap in Microsoft reputation will end up closing again before it happens.
