NAC
Enterprises are spending increasing amounts on 3rd party NAC, not on Cisco's proposition. You can argue about whether it will be a sustainable stand-alone marketet, but it's a market that security vendors will serve.

Gartner divides NAC btween "pre-connection" (endpoint agents) and "post-connection" (appliances). That's a useful taxonomy, considering the different uses for each.

Until patch management is perfect and all assets are managed, endpoint NAC is a solution. It must evolve, but the concept has legs, despite the hype from Cisco and others.
