For your comments suggesting that Paul Thurrot isn't keeping up with the press, some could be said about you
. Microsoft have already initiated a royalty-free license for use of the Ribbon UI to any application which does not directly compete with those of the Office suite. I think this is a great idea - why keep something that would improve the entire windows eco-system to themselves?
