Its a fact that Bill Gates mentioned that there is an 80% chance for Vista to ship in January.

However I think you are taking his statement out of context.

Vista can be released even today. But its better to have crossed every t and dotted every i and be late rather than be on time and miss a couple of them.

Are you gonna say the same when the weather man says 'Theres an 80% chance of percipitation today'.
