Where does it fit in?
The usage scenarios in that thread are all perfectly valid but, then again, some of the rebuttals later on are equally valid.

Yes, having a device smaller than current Tablets can be great if you need a fully functional Windows PC rather than a PDA or SmartPhone and have limited space but if it is too large to fit in your pockets then you may pass over it for a SmartPhone if you need to be handsfree or don't have a bag with you.

Is it a camera? Is it a phone? You'll still end up taking multiple devices with you and if your SmartPhone can do everything you need while on the run then the Origami may have limited appeal.

If you are already a mobile worker with a need for access to spreadsheets, presentations etc. then the chances are you've already got yourself a Tablet or an ultra-portable laptop.

At present, the price is being touted as "under $1000" - how much under will be a key factor. It it's only just under will people be willing to shell out for something that is under sized/under powered in comparison to something else that they can buy for the same price.

There will still the incredible pulling power of the 'geek factor' associated with these devices but I'm sure that a lot of people will be disappointed by the end result. That is always a danger, however, with any successful spin campaign - you've got to be able to produce the goods at the end of the day and make them so that people will NEED (not want) to switch.

There is definitely a market for a device that is more compact than a normal laptop or Tablet - and perhaps a number of devices will be sold when users come to the end of their normal upgrade cycles - but they will certainly not be the life changing items that the average consumer will want to carry around with them.
