Don't take my Moleskine notebook and Rotring pen

I need to wear my tin foil hat more often...

I was going to write about this same thing! My moleskin notebook goes with me everywhere, and occasionally so does my Rotring fountain pen. I generally prefer a less bulky writing instrument and sometimes even use the refill from a ball point pen.

Which moleskin do you use? I prefer the small quarter size and I sometimes glue my own covers to them. They are very slim, I can slip it into my jacket.

I use them as a catchall, for my ideas and interviews. It's amazing how much they can hold.

I sometimes call it my hipster PDA - always-on, stylus input and very rugged. And very green.

There's a place for older technologies. My son Matt surprised me a few years ago when he was 17. For Christmas he asked for an Olivetti typewriter and a Rotring fountain pen set! (He gave me the silver one.) I thought that was so cool.
