More of a continuing trend.
It seems to me that this has been a trend evolving over twenty years. The United States took major steps towards switching from a manufacturing economy to an information economy in the 80's. The tools developed for this change made it possible to analyze and target sectors of the market that were once underserved. If you want my prediction most will fail some will succeed and the economy will grow.
