Hogwash
The virtualization "bubble" is no different than the housing bubble (or the internet bubble). Something (that appears) new and cool is jumped on as the next great bandwagon. EVERYONE want's to be on the cutting edge of IT all all costs - no matter what the tech is.

Everything you can do, I can do better - without virtualization. If you have 32 VMs running 1 big application in each one, then putting 32 big applications in ONE instance of *NIX would be MORE efficient than adding the overhead of 32 Virtual managers. Virtualization makes IT easier for (some) HUMANS to UNDERSTAND - at the cost of efficiency. Yes I can (and have) proved it.
