Their losses will continue, and it's not because of a bad economy
The company said that there was some sign of an improving economy and that fourth quarter losses should be lower than in the most recent quarter.

That's some good spin. However, their losses and that of the MSM started way before the economic downturn. In fact, the NY Times has been losing readership, and with a loss of circulation, their ad revenue will of course follow.

The NY Times and many other media organizations decided long ago that they would take a definite direction to the left of mainstream Americans. The American people of course, didn't go along and the NY Times suffered the decline which they rightfully deserved. When you decide that you're only going to cater to less than half of the population and when you decide that your media is the tool to effect change rather than to just report the news, then people get turned off by your schemes.

People are still getting their news and information, and there are many different ways to get or stay informed, and that includes the internet. There are media organizations having success in the new media format, but the NY Times, with its bias, is simply not going to be competitive. Bye-Bye, NY Times. Good riddance!
