- Is Oh Noes Done Yet?

Well. Isn't that like books, with the exception that, for the near-term,
the one retailer welcomes self-published works?
Every where I look, one has to write the thing. One has to wrap it and
ship it. And one has to market his or her butt off to the people who
were looking for the app.
What I expect will also happen is that developers who are real good at
building their marketing team will scout for good apps that are
underperforming and will buy them from the original developer or
employ the original developer. Some people who are good at having
good ideas will think up and package concepts and sell these to
successful publishers for completion.
There will be consolidation. There will be shakeout. There will be
specialization. This will be a normal content publishing and
distribution business. Someone will make money and others with new
ideas will keep entering to try and make money.
We keep seeing people put together bands, become actors, play high
school and college football, write books, and write traditional software
despite having the same or worse profit profiles as shown above for
iPhone apps.
