Once readers decide that real news...

is what they want instead of misinformation, consistently wrong analysts' opinions, unresearched information pieces all of which is brought to them with terrible spelling and grammar, they will ditch bloggers for more professional media content. Blogs will be for those that enjoy trolling through talkback forums.

It is amazing that bloggers want to classify themselves with actual professional journalists, with people that have been educated for that profession. It's like someone without a law degree practicing law. Or one without a medical degree practicing medicine.

Bloggers are fast becoming a joke in the world of publication. Their unprofessional demeanor is being recognized by the average reader and pointed out in talkback forums more and more.

The bloggers on ZDNet are some of the worst excuses for publishers that you will find on the Internet. The talkback content will tell you so. It is combative most of the time because it is plain to see the lack of intelligent posts.

So to answer your question, the "new" media is vulnerable but it will be replaced by the older generation of news sites as people start to realize that that is where the actual professional journalism was at. Blogs are fun for the talkback features. But not for obtaining useful information.
