Two problems with this blog post, Tom

1. Where's the link(s) to corroborate the story?

2. This "release of malware source code" may not be open source at all. If so, then it would be licensed as such, but I would imagine the malware author(s) would have simply put it out in the pubic domain. But again, without a link for context, we wouldn't know.
