Well, so far, there have not been major disruptions from the internet on
tech companies, but, in the next phase, there is going to be fallout.

There are right now a lot of tech companies that still make a lot of money selling high priced software to run on PC clients and local servers. In the next wave, locally installed software on either clients or servers will be a thing of the past, and existing companies will need to adjust to that or go out of business.
