It is possible to use channel hopping.
If the spectrum is broken up into data channels and information is sent across either multiple channels or if the devices are connected in such away that they constantly sync to new channels you would get a fairly robust connection.
Bluetooth does this. That is why if you have 50 Bluetooth headsets connected to phones on a street they all work. They are constantly channel hopping but they do work.
