Manufactures yes carriers no
Only in the USA is the iPhone a one carrier only product. Here in Australia all three telcos have the iPhone. Optus, Voda and Telstra. Why would the telcos want to support another "smart" phone when they have the market leading product? They don't, it saves them money to support one phone and at the end of the day the iPhone will win out. Apple won the MP3 player market and they will win the "smart phone" market only it will take a little longer.
