Honestly, this is of no threat to Firefox. It's completely open source, so Mozilla will simply observe the beta phase of this browser and integrate its architecture into future Firefox releases. The relationship between Firefox and Google will continue unaffected and they will both be flicking their noses at Microsoft the whole time.

New open source apps never hurt other open source apps. It's all open innovation. It's a community. It only hurts proprietary vendors who are barred legally from integrating open source architecture and locking the improvements in a proprietary app. Chrome specifically turns up the heat under IE.
