RE: Microsoft withrawls bid for Yahoo, Google wins
What is really disturbing about the headline and text is not only the misuse of "withdrawals" (should have been "withdraws") but also the improper use of "it's" (should have been "its"). And while these errors may be viewed as harmless, they're moreover indicative of what is fast-becoming a loud alarm to those of us who value proper language usage and grammar that America is rapidly deteriorating into a mass of functional illiterates. I see it daily in t.v. crawl lines, headlines, news articles, books and magazines. It's embarrassing!
