Mind you, even more embarassing than that
is my mis-spelling of embarrassing.

I just looked on dict.org and of course you can use "withdraws" or "withdrawals", but I think withdrawal is out of context, ie : "Microsoft withdrawals from Yahoo bid" is ok, but in your heading "Microsoft withdraws bid for Yahoo" would be right. I think.
