Everyone wins
Thanks Garett. In spite of itself, Microsoft is showing signs of becoming the New Microsoft (whatever that might mean).

Google is not a Microsoft killer, and Microsoft is not a Google killer. Let's say that Microsoft does buy Yahoo. Then both Google and Microsoft will have decent online doc tools.

For Microsoft, it would be reasonable to assume that "store online" will be a future feature in Word/Excel/etc.

For Google, you might expect them to continue to deliver unique tools to small businesses, such as bookkeeping, taxes, etc. Things that Microsoft just doesn't do. Perhaps they'll come up with something unique in the future, like Competitive Intelligence.

In any case, here's what I see:
1) Consumers win. Having choices is great.
2) Google wins, but not a huge win.
3) Microsoft doesn't lose, in fact they could win, perhaps even a big win. They will survive.

Cheers,
Mike
