- The key to sampling clear-air for aerosols and other obscurants is through multi-spectral sampling. The algorighms help, but the problem is that current operational met satellites operate in the incorrect wavelengths. The future EOS sensors do have more spectral sensing capabilities and should provide DRAMATIC increases over current capabilities.
