Complete nonsense
In one instance (MP3) you are compressing a specific performance and in the other (Tiny Files) you are essentially compressing sheet music to be played on a virtual instrument. Of course it will be smaller.

Maybe before blogging about it, someone should have thought about some practical aspects. If the "client" is a virtual music environment with instruments x,y,z then what would happen if you get a file that require instrument Q? Or Maybe some completely made-up instrument for which there exists no digital profile? The cilent would then have to download additional information to let the file play, obviously increasing the amount of data needed.

This whole thing is interesting, but not very practical.
