Tiny music files almost as good as MP3 ones

Yes.: "Is sheet music as good as live concert or audio recording?"

Put the sheet music in front of an orchestra and the answer is, "damned straight, it is. What did you expect?"

And that's the point. The playback software has to be able to interpret the file. The complexity is taken out of the file format and put into the player. The result is exceedingly good performance... BUT...

It's not likely to be generally useful due for general purpose use, at least not soon. MP3 can encode any sound, whereas this format describes sounds produced by a particular model. So it can do a single instrucment very well. How many instruments can it scale to? What about a band? What about an orchestra? What about a live rock concert with 200,000 screaming fans in attendance? How is that modeled?
