- Just exhale
-
Just get the world to exhale only 3 times less per minute for a week, and we'll lick this global warming thing.
BTW, are humans so arrogant that they think they can 'control' the global climate? Are humans stupid enough to think they have enough data to accurately come to such conclusions and then think they can actually do something about it? How about predicting climate forecasting? Does logic not dictate that humans must perfect forecasting before thinking they can control the climate? How else will they be able to forecast the effects of their controlling mechanisms?
Did you know less people die of heat than cold? Did you know that life flourished in much greater quantity and variety in times much warmer than today? What about the little ice-age of the 16th century? Should humans have controlled the climate then if it was possible at that time? I'm sure humans of those days would have enjoyed being able to grow more crops for a longer period of time. It's just a thought but maybe the water mold blamed for the potato famine wouldn't have been a reality had it been a tenth or two degrees C warmer in the 1800's.
Lets say we can control the climate and actually do. Who's going to pay for it? The Iranians or North Koreans? Who decides what the 'ideal' climate is and who gets control of the thermostat?
Look. Its obvious the climate has become warmer. Two tenths of a Celsius degree in 1000 years. Knowing that the world survived and survived well in warmer temps and knowing how little we humans really know about the climate, to knee-jerk decide we must 'control' the climate could be just as disastrous as nuclear holocaust, which by the way is still a much more probable scenario than Al Gore's climate holocaust.
I'm all for faster computers. Maybe these little guys will give us the computing power that we need to save us from ourselves by helping us discover the gene responsible for common sense. - Posted by: People Posted on: 01/24/08 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
