many of the arguments/plans i've seen, only deal w/ 2 dimensional possibilities, whether on paper or in movies. noneseems to talk effectively about all possible vectors in relationship to earth. this is one reason, it occurs to me, that it has been, and will continue to be, a very long time before this is actually an issue. then if/when it is, using the idea that there are 3 dimensions and a multitude of speed variables, it shouldn't be hard to avert disaster. to wit,if an object is coming at earth, very large and very fast, based on the laws of motion it makes more sense to make it go faster rather that try to stop or deter it. this way it gets to the ronezvous before earth does, disaster averted w/ less effort. this is overly simple, but point made, nonetheless.
