Oh ... you know Everybody??

Out of the 330 million in America, how many do you know? Just because your limited circle of people are obsessed with how something looks doesn't mean everybody is! Design doesn't help your productivity or the quality of the results, its nice but not essential. I've owned over 50 computers in the last 30 years and I'll take the function of an expandable open platform over nice form any day. Maybe Gen's X and Y can afford to focus on design issues but those who know how bad the economy is going to get can't afford to. The ruling era of designers will end with 10% + unemployment and massive business failures; it was only cheap credit and money that let that era go so far. I sure am glad that I don't have to worry about how my laptop will look when I'm in public. My self esteem can handle it.
