Planned long before downturn
You don't cook up new machines
overnight. It takes time, a lot of time.
These things were in the works long
before the economic problems surfaced.

If they had been introduced a few
months earlier, there would have been
no discussion about introducing rather
expensive items in a downturn.

The auto market faced a similar
problem when the price of gas shot up
in the spring. It has effected 2009
models of SUVs and other gas guzzlers.
Those vehicles were also planned before
the gas price bomb hit.
