The problem with Flash (and Java) on the iPhone is not technical. The problem is that it lets users run applications that have not been approved by Apple. This destroys Apple's control of their platform, and damages their monopoly power over app distribution. It won't happen with current versions of Flash or Java, but there are changes that Adobe/Sun can make to make their platforms more acceptable to Apple - mostly by preventing execution of third-party code.
